Worksheet 9 Classwork 2 Jean Yee (3) & Hamidshah (12)

Aaron, Ben & Charles shared 110 marbles. Ben received twice as many marbles as Aaron. Charles received 10 more marbles and Aaron. How many marbles did each boy receive?

Let us take Aaron's marbles as x.
Aaron-x
Ben-2x
Charles- x+10

x(Aaron)+2x(Ben)+x+10(Charles)=110
4x+10=110

Then we subtract 10 from both sides of the equation. So it results in this:
4x=100

Then we divide both sides by 4.
4x=100
÷4  ÷4
x=25
So Aaron has 25 marbles.

2x=50
Ben has 50 marbles.

x+10=35
Charles has 35 marbles.
